About me

Dear Valued Clients,

After 45 years in the hair industry, firstly as owner of New-Comb Hair Design and for the last 18 years as Margaret Helman Wigs I have decided to retire on Friday 7th June 2019.

It is time to pass on my knowledge and skills of the wig business to a like minded successful woman who will continue to provide a professional caring service to my valued clients.

I would like to express to you all how much I have enjoyed my career it has given me both professional and personal satisfaction to have been able to make a small difference in my clients lives.

I would like to thank all the oncology doctors and medical staff from the following organisation’s  Barwon Health – University Hospital, SJOG, Epworth Hospital and Peter Mac for the all support they have given over the last 18 years.

My clients will be in the very capable hands of Megan Purdy who has been working alongside me for 5 months. Megan is not only a successful hairdresser but she is compassionate and caring and will continue to provide excellent customer service to existing and future clients.

You will find Megan at my former premises 10A Ormond Road East Geelong. Her business is called The Wig Place. Megan can be contacted by phone 0400183163 or email thewigplace@hotmail.com

My name is Margaret Helman. I have been a hairdresser for over 35 years, a wig specialist for last 25 years and owned a successful salon for a large part of my career.

It was my experience as a cancer survivor that fed my passion to want to help others.

I work with clients ranging from cancer, alopecia and people experiencing hair loss. My client goal is to provide you with a wig that doesn't look like you are wearing a wig!
